Documentation and research have shown that there is a significantly improved outcome of both the high risk mother and neonate when delivery occurs in a tertiary center. Having been in business since 1997 and providing classes and consultations all over the US and Canada, we have some very exciting news. In January 2019 we went digital !!! That is correct, you can now get your high risk obstetric education online in the comfort of your own surroundings. The class is the equivalent of 2 full days of classroom education, and upon completion, awards 13.25 contact hours provided through ASTNA (Air & Surface Transport Nurses Association). While the hours are approved for nursing, we recommend that paramedics check with their providers to determine acceptability for their required contact hours.

Overview of the Course
O.B. STAT offers a comprehensive 2-day class designed to provide obstetrical
transport training from assessment & stabilization through transport. This course has been provided in person for over 20 years throughout the US and Canada. The online course is an entire videotaped class. Course topics include:

Instructor
Pam Adams, RN/EMT-P
Pam is the president of O.B. STAT, an organization designed to educate EMS and Critical Care personnel on maternal transports. She founded and ran the first dedicated maternal transport team in Florida. Pam has a 44 year background in emergency medicine and 41 years in nursing. Being involved in flight medicine since 1989, has spoken at international EMS transport conventions such as the annual AAMS convention. She’s authored numerous obstetrical chapters for various transport standards books, and gives freely of her time to further OB transport education.
In addition to educating, Pam has served as a legal nurse consultant / expert witness for attorneys on OB related cases. This expertise provides transport clients an advantage when she assists them with writing their policies and standards during consultations.
